AN ORDINANCE concerning:

County Pension and Retirement Plans

FOR the purpose of revising County pension and retirement plans; providing for
pension benefits for participants in the County pension and retirement plans;
providing for the administration of the County pension and retirement plans;
defining certain terms; providing for the transfer of certain provisions to the
Laws of Anne Arundel County; and generally relating to County pensions and
retirement.

BY repealing:

Article 7, §§ 1-101 through 1-103 and the title, "Title 1. Pension Oversight
Commission" in their entirety; §§ 2-201 through 2-222 and the title "Title
2. Employees' Retirement Plan" in their entirety; §§ 4-101 through 4-315
and the title "Title 4. Fire Service Retirement Plan" in their entirety; §§
5-101 through 5-215 and the title "Title 5. Police Service Retirement Plan"
in their entirety; § 6-101 and the title "Title 6. Pension Plan for Detention
Officers and Personnel" in their entirety; § 8-101 and 8-102 and the title
"Title 8. Post-Retirement Benefit Increases to Retirees and Beneficiaries"
in their entirety; and Article 8, § 2-102(e) and (f)

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments:

Article 7, § 1A-101; § 1A-103(5); § 1A-105(a), (c), (e)(1) and (3); 1A-107(b)(7);

1A-108(a); 1A-205; and 1A-410(a)

BY renumbering:

Article 7, §§ 1A-101 through 1A-502 and the title "Title 1A. County Retirement
and Pension System" to be Article 7, §§ 2-101 through 2-502 and the title
"Title 2. County Retirement and Pension System"

Anne Arundel County Code (1985, as amended)

BY transferring:

Article 7, §§ 3-101 through 3-218 and the title, "Title 3. Retirement Plan for
Appointed and Elected Officials" and Article 7, § 7-101 and the title "Title
7. Judges of the Circuit Court" to the Laws of Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County Code (1985, as amended)

BY adding:

Article 2, §§ 2B-101 and 2B-102 to be under the new title, "Title 2B. Pension
Oversight Commission"; Article 7, §§ 1-101 through 1-515 to be under the
new title, "Title 1. Definitions; General Provisions"; §§ 3-101 through
3-309 to be under the new title, "Title 3. Employees' Retirement Plan"; §§
