AN ACT concerning

Aquaculture

FOR the purpose of promoting the development of the aquaculture
industry in this State; establishing an Aquaculture Policy
Committee and Aquaculture Advisory Committee; defining
aquaculture as an agricultural activity in this State;
authorizing the Department of Natural Resources to adopt
regulations to issue permits and inspect aquaculture
operation; authorizing the Department to adopt regulations
to designate and regulate certain activities in aquaculture
enterprise zones; requiring the Department of Natural
Resources to consult and cooperate with the Aquaculture
Policy Advisory Committee in developing certain regulations;
repealing certain restrictions on leased oyster bottom to

allow for aquaculture development under certain

circumstances; allowing the sale of striped bass or hybrids
of striped bass by a certain date or upon certain
Legislative Policy Committee approval; requiring the
Advisory Committee to present a certain legislative proposal
by a certain time; providing for an certain effective date
dates; and generally relating to the development of the
aquaculture industry.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
