		VETOES

		BILLS AND MESSAGES for the BILLS VETOED by the Governor of Maryland from the 2006 Regular Session of the General Assembly of Maryland

		NOTE Two hundred eight bills were vetoed by the Governor for the 2006 Regular Session of the General Assembly. One hundred three of these bills originated in the Senate and one hundred five of them originated in the House of Delegates. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 17 of Article II of the Maryland Constitution, a vetoed bill will not be returned to the Legislature when a new General Assembly of Maryland has been elected and sworn since the passage of the vetoed bill. However, if the General Assembly convenes in Special Session prior to the election and swearing in of the newly elected members, the vetoed bills may be reconsidered in order to determine whether the veto is sustained or overridden.
