NOTE

One hundred and sixty bills were vetoed by the Acting
Governor following the 1978 Regular Session of the General
Assembly. Sixty—two of these bills originated in the
Senate, and 98 of them originated in the House of Delegates.
Under Section 17 of Article II of the Constitution of
Maryland, specifying that vetoed bills are not returned to
the Legislature "when a new General Assembly has been
elected and sworn since the passage of the vetoed bill,"
these vetoes will be final unless a Special Session of the
Legislature should be called prior to the convening of the
General Assembly for the Regular Session of 1979.
