Dates Before 1752, when the Gregorian replaced the Julian calendar, dates from 1 January through
24 March are given in Old Style (e.g., 14 February 1722/23),

SW Special Writ. A personal summons issued by the governor for attendance at an assembly.

TEV Total Estate Value. The figure given represents the amount of an inventory or inventories of
personal property plus collectable debts due to the estate. It does not include the value of real
property except for leaseholds. Totals are rounded to the nearest penny. The phrase "as
calculated" indicates that the research staff corrected clerical errors. Where known, the type
of currency or commodity (such as sterling, paper money, or tobacco) is given. If the type of
currency or commodity is unknown, no qualifying remarks follow.
