At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun and held in the City of
Annapolis on the Eleventh Day of January, 1995, and Ending on the Tenth Day of
April, 1995, Parris N. Glendening, being Governor of the State, the following laws
were enacted, to wit:

CHAPTER 1
(House Bill 217)

AN ACT concerning

Unemployment Insurance - Benefits - Basic Rate Adjustments

FOR the purpose of altering the amount of the maximum weekly unemployment
insurance benefit; providing that the maximum weekly benefit increase applies to
certain claims filed on or after a certain date; altering the schedule of basic rate
adjustments; providing for the effective dates of this Act; providing for the
termination of the alteration of the basic rate adustments adjustments; making this
Act an emergency measure; and generally relating to unemployment insurance
benefits and adjustments to the basic rate of contribution to the Unemployment
Insurance Fund.
